The ISLAND LIST
We are both, according to writer Lawrence Durrell, affected by Islomania:
“A rare condition of the mind but by no means unknown. A passion and a particular attraction for the islands. » … Ok, we admit it.
And that’s the only things we have in common.
She thinks we’re nothing without each other. He is fiercely lonely.
He is in the details. She is in the essence of life.
He grew up barefoot on an island in Africa. She spent her teenage years barefoot, of course, but navigating between the trendy spots of the Mediterranean and the mud of rock festivals.
And then one day, after having had to work together for years without ever understanding each other, we discovered this common love for the islands. We could indeed each talk about it for hours; about their symbolism, the imaginations they develop, the feelings of infinite freedom and reassuring cocoon they trigger. Their fragility too.
The difference and the exchange seeming to us more constructive than the community of spirit, we then launched this challenge: to transmit their singularities through our very distinct sensibilities.
We are talking here to those who, like us, have travel in their hearts, those for whom the art of living, authenticity and discretion predominate. Those who, to the rhythm of the sun, savor the sweetness of life while simply enjoying the present moment.
